DUYRs Editing the 6 minute version.

Hello everyone.

Now the Virgin Media short trailer version is in the competition. The focus will now be on completing longer version.

We have a rough cut.

Rod and I will sit down soon and crack on with it, as I got festivals to enter. The challenge will be to make longer version better than short. Can we do it? Stay tuned and find out.

It's a wrap!

Hi All,

I'd just like to say a big THANK YOU to every one of you who helped make Digging up your Roots. I felt the shoots went fantastically well and that it's all thanks to each and every one of you. I have learn't a lot an am also hoping you've all got a lot out of it as well. I can't have ask for more than I was given.

Just to keep you all posted, I will be taking a break, away from the project for a week, as it has been apart of my life since November. Once I'm rested I'll crack on with Rod in getting a rough cut of the film done, I only hope the movie will justify all the fun and talent that was at hand and my disposal.

Fixed Date

I have spoken with actor and July or later shooting dates are out of the question. This has left me with one Definite shooting date Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd of June a date EVERYONE (except Nick) has agreed they are available for.

I have commitments to get back to my actor and Cemetery people ASAP, so please could you all confirm ASAP.

I will also be putting a PRODUCTION MEETING together in a couple of weeks. I can't afford to slip up again so I am relying on all of you and need your help.

Reschedule shoot

As you may be aware I recently had to cancel the DIGGING UP YOUR ROOTS shoot which was scheduled for this weekend.

I now need to reschedule and am e-mailing possible shoot dates. Please take a look and check your availability. Sarah and I will be looking to confirm possible shoot dates with our actor, so we need to know when you will all be free. The possible dates are:

·         Sat 6^th/Sun 7^th July

·         Sat 13^th/ Sun 14^th July

·         Sat 20^th/ Sun 21^st July

It may also be possible to Shoot INTERIOR stuff on a weekday evening & EXTERIOR on a Weekend day, on a much closer timescale but we'll have to look at that. If possible please let me or Sarah know what you can do ASAP via e-mail, although we will be following this up at Tuesday’s meeting.

Just letting you all know everything is going to be completely up
in the air for me. I have just got keys for my new place and will
probably be moving in Sunday. 

As for  Digging up roots it will be taking a back seat for at least a few days.

I was a interested in checking out the whispered line in scene 10 so took a quick look at it this morning.

Shooting Postponed

I was looking at possibility of shooting Ashleighs scenes this Wednesday 13th Feb but that has been CANCELLED and I am now looking at shooting them during an evening the last week of this month, please let me know your availability for that week Sunday 24th – Thursday 28th February."

But it was rescheduled for the following week.

I met with a very good actress Gina on Monday 4th Feb in Oxford and she is available Mon 11th – Fri 15th Feb.

So please let me know what evenings you are free? We could potentially have Ashley's part in the bag Sooner than we thought. Please let me know asap.

Preproduction update

Focus fully on getting preproduction completed as productively as possibly.

Shooting dates will be decided once things start to materialise such as actors, props etc...

As of time of writing I now have two locations: Rods room = Asheigh's office.

Cemetery is still a work in progress; due to the weather I have cancelled Cemetery recce for now, but will have to do it soon.

Also I forgot to mention one SMALL detail I need a Baby Tree or location which has one ^_^ (help anyone).

2nd Draft

Well someone's been working hard over the Christmas break! Joe Phillips emailed the second version of the script with the latest amendments.

"I will be Directing but would love help on the Producing side. Any budding Producers in the group looking to co-produce this with me? 

Hopefully already have an story-boarder  If anyone wants to discuss anything about this production, please contact me – I would like to have film completed by end of February. Too ambitious? We'll find out."
